Fred Thompson's campaign for President of the USA is finished. Does this mean that Fox, New York Times, CNN, MSNBC, et al will only show three front runners plus Rudy in their pictures from now on?
After all, after leading the "polls" for most of 2007 and being constantly promoted in the media as the frontrunner and America's Choice and America's Mayor etc etc.... He still cannot beat Ron Paul in the Caucuses and Primaries.
What does that tell you about how the public view the mainstream media?
The media needs to answer this question:
IF Rudy is still considered a front runner and a viable candidate worthy of kind of media attention that is due to a serious candidate, then why can he not beat Ron Paul???? Come on media, if you claim to exclude Ron Paul because he is "fringe", what is your excuse for blanket coverage of the maverick extremist (who wants to pre-emptively nuke Iran) who has even less support from real voters than Ron Paul?
