A superb letter to the Columbia University President

The President of Columbia University ought to be thoroughly ashamed of himself and resign. Not for his personal political beliefs, to which hi is entitled, but for the ignorance that he demonstrated towards the elected leader of Iran. As the head of a University, he (more than anyone) should demonstrate that he is educated and informed and behave as an academic. Not a closed minded bigoted thug, completely mind controlled by a biased and corrupt media. I read the transcript and was disgusted that a country built on freedom, liberty, justice for alll could have as a Universoty President a man so closed minded, ignorant and above all WRONG, on so many substantive issues.

Mr. Lee Bollinger should apologise for his ignorance and resign.

Seven chancellors and presidents of Iranian universities and research centers, in a letter addressed to their counterpart in the US Colombia University, denounced Lee Bollinger's insulting words against the Iranian nation and president and invited him to provide responses for 10 questions of the Iranian academicians and intellectuals.

The following is the full text of the letter.

Mr. Lee Bollinger
Columbia University President

We, the professors and heads of universities and research institutions in Tehran , hereby announce our displeasure and protest at your impolite remarks prior to Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's recent speech at Columbia University.

We would like to inform you that President Ahmadinejad was elected directly by the Iranian people through an enthusiastic two-round poll in which almost all of the country's political parties and groups participated. To assess the quality and nature of these elections you may refer to US news reports on the poll dated June 2005.

Your insult, in a scholarly atmosphere, to the president of a country with a population of 72 million and a recorded history of 7,000 years of civilization and culture is deeply shameful.

Your comments, filled with hate and disgust, may well have been influenced by extreme pressure from the media, but it is regrettable that media policy-makers can determine the stance a university president adopts in his speech.

Your remarks about our country included unsubstantiated accusations that were the product of guesswork as well as media propaganda. Some of your claims result from misunderstandings that can be clarified through dialogue and further research.

During his speech, Mr. Ahmadinejad answered a number of your questions and those of students. We are prepared to answer any remaining questions in a scientific, open and direct debate.

You asked the president approximately ten questions. Allow us to ask you ten of our own questions in the hope that your response will help clear the atmosphere of misunderstanding and distrust between our two countries and reveal the truth.

1- Why did the US media put you under so much pressure to prevent Mr. Ahmadinejad from delivering his speech at Columbia University? And why have American TV networks been broadcasting hours of news reports insulting our president while refusing to allow him the opportunity to respond? Is this not against the principle of freedom of speech?

2- Why, in 1953, did the US administration overthrow the Iran's national government under Dr Mohammad Mosaddegh and go on to support the Shah's dictatorship?

3- Why did the US support the blood-thirsty dictator Saddam Hussein during the 1980-88 Iraqi-imposed war on Iran, considering his reckless use of chemical weapons against Iranian soldiers defending their land and even against his own people?

4- Why is the US putting pressure on the government elected by the majority of Palestinians in Gaza instead of officially recognizing it? And why does it oppose Iran 's proposal to resolve the 60-year-old Palestinian issue through a general referendum?

5- Why has the US military failed to find Al-Qaeda leader Osama Bin Laden even with all its advanced equipment? How do you justify the old friendship between the Bush and Bin Laden families and their cooperation on oil deals? How can you justify the Bush administration's efforts to disrupt investigations concerning the September 11 attacks?

6- Why does the US administration support the Mujahedin Khalq Organization (MKO) despite the fact that the group has officially and openly accepted the responsibility for numerous deadly bombings and massacres in Iran and Iraq? Why does the US refuse to allow Iran 's current government to act against the MKO's main base in Iraq?

7- Was the US invasion of Iraq based on international consensus and did international institutions support it? What was the real purpose behind the invasion which has claimed hundreds of thousands of Iraqi lives? Where are the weapons of mass destruction that the US claimed were being stockpiled in Iraq?

8- Why do America's closest allies in the Middle East come from extremely undemocratic governments with absolutist monarchical regimes?

9- Why did the US oppose the plan for a Middle East free of unconventional weapons in the recent session of the International Atomic Energy Agency Board of Governors despite the fact the move won the support of all members other than Israel?

10- Why is the US displeased with Iran's agreement with the IAEA and why does it openly oppose any progress in talks between Iran and the agency to resolve the nuclear issue under international law?

Finally, we would like to express our readiness to invite you and other scientific delegations to our country. A trip to Iran would allow you and your colleagues to speak directly with Iranians from all walks of life including intellectuals and university scholars. You could then assess the realities of Iranian society without media censorship before making judgments about the Iranian nation and government.

You can be assured that Iranians are very polite and hospitable toward their guests.

Mr Bollinger could learn a lot from that invite.

Aaron Russo RIP

Title: The Countdown to Armageddon

To the great sea of mankind,

The time of the end is upon us. Like it or hate it, it's the destiny

we must all face. On September 11, 2001 the world was witness

to the beginning of the end. What you saw and experienced will

be nothing compared to the calamity that is to soon transpire. It

is sad that so many lives will be taken - but these things will continue

to happen as this old system begins to collapse.

No human government in existence now or since the ancient times

have been able to sustain a perfect order. Every government has

failed and will fail. They can not protect you. They can not give you

a place where people are truly free, where your neighbours are your family

and foreigners are your friends. No human government today

can or will ever be able to achieve this. That is why the Agenda

has been set. It has been referred to over time as the Armageddon

Agenda. But be not fearful. It will not be a nuclear holocaust or some

stray asteroid from the heavens that will level our civilization. In

fact it's not the planet that will suffer and be swept away. It will be the

human inhabitants of this great planet who have no respect or genuine

regard for their fellow human beings. Each one of you over the next

year must do some very deep and sincere thinking. Will I overcome

my hatred for my fellowman or will I put aside my differences and unite

and care for my neighbour? Will I treat them with kindness? Or will I continue

to take advantage of them? When was the last time you took a person in off

the street and gave them some food or helped them find shelter for the night? Or

sat beside someone on a bus, in a mall, on a train and said Hello. When did you

last comfort a stranger who had lost someone they loved. When was the last time

you befriended someone not because of their posessions or their wealth - but

because you cared about them?

None of the above is easy. It is hard. None of us are perfect. None of us have had a

good life. Some think that because we have suffered to some degree that we deserve

what ever we can get - even if it means hurting another person in the process. But those

who try and rise up against our negative ways will survive and will be rewarded with

a life on earth that right now is only a dream. Only the meek will possess the earth.

This is a certainty.

The New System is coming. The only question is: Will you choose to be there? Or will

you continue to go down the road to self destruction. It's up to you. The following

Agenda is what will happen and what you will need to endure through to

survive and get there. So think deeply. It's your future. And may you do well.

Your Brother

======== AGENDA TO THE NEW WORLD =========

The steps will be:

1) A complete irresolvable collapse of Middle Eastern peace.

2) Vatican city will fall to religious terrorists.

2) World-Wide Crack Down on all religion. All Religions will be

3) United Nations will establish an interm one world government
state, followed by a declaration of worldwide peace and security.

4) Sudden and systematic collapse of Great Britain, Chinese
and the United States Governments. The rest of the world will fall
into anarchy. Billions will perish. Only those of good-will, and
followers of the truth will survive.

5) New system government of 144,000 members and 6 million
plus subjects will take control.

6) Massive cleanup operation will commence as New World is
created. Eco-systems will be restored. Infrastructures re-built. Sickness
and disease will be eliminated. Aging will be reversed and the aging
process itself will cease. A New restored human family will gradually
bring the earth into paradisaical conditions under theocratic rule.

======== END OF AGENDA =========

Rice swipes at IAEA, urges bold action on Iran

The United States has been critical of a deal International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) chief Mohamed ElBaradei has made with Iran to answer long-standing questions about its nuclear activities.

Rice, who has previously accused ElBaradei of "muddying the message" to Iran, voiced strong irritation with the IAEA chief.

Who was correct over the details of Iraq's nuclear program? Ms Rice or the IAEA?

Who are you going to believe now?

Somebody ought to ask this guy about this in the next debate!

In addition to the reasons cited in this video, another reason for the emergency command center to be located in WTC7 was the fact that the unique design and construction of the building meant that an entire floor could be removed and remodeled if needed without effecting the structural integrity of the building. In other words it was several buildings within one. In other words it was very VERY strong. A localised collapse would NOT have brought down the whole building.

Rudy has some explainin' to do.

Welcome to the land of the free!

OK this guy is a little bit agitated at the start, but given how the USA has fucked over the people, I think he has every reason to be angry and considering this, I think he was being very restrained.

Oedipal complex on steroids!

This is a really disturbing video in some ways, but the martial arts baby is hilarious.

Oh, and from personal experience, those shavers are pretty good too.

Satellite photo of ice cover over Arctic poll - 2007 (Source: European Space Agency)
The most direct shipping route from Europe to Asia is fully clear of ice for the first time since records began, the European Space Agency (Esa) says.

Historically, the Northwest Passage linking the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans has been ice-bound through the year.

But the agency says ice cover has been steadily shrinking, and this summer's reduction has made the route navigable.

The findings, based on satellite images, raised concerns about the speed of global warming.

The Northwest Passage is one of the most fabled sea routes in the world - a short cut from Europe to Asia through the Canadian Arctic.

Recent years have seen a marked shrinkage in its ice cover, but this year it was extreme, Esa says.

It says this made the passage "fully navigable" for the first time since monitoring began in 1978.

1978!!! You mean we started monitoring the ice at the END of a cooling period? I'll bet, although they were not monitoring this then, that in the 1930's that this passage WAS navigable then too... In fact it may have been navigable almost permanently back in the medieval warm period. In fact when Greenland was Green I am sure that this route would have been open. But according to the mainstream education, America had not been discovered and the earth was thought to be flat back then so nobody would have dared venture out there in there little boats.

Using phraseology like, "this has been the worst melt since records began," is very misleading and very emotive and paints a wholly inaccurate picture of arctic ice.

What is also NEVER mentioned these days is the antarctic ice, which is getting thicker and wider, the majority of glacier's on the planet are increasing in size and the Polar Bears have survived long periods when the earth has been much warmer than today.

The people who wish to control what we think and do are trying everything to convince us that AGW is real and forget all that nonsense about the way the climate behaved in the past. They must have theri quasi-religious cult brainwash as many of us as possible.

I am not against reducing polution, but the idea of getting every TV in the UK to have it's stand-by function disabled and putting a £3000.oo tax on 4x4's SUV's is not going to make the Northern ice re-freeze.

I have no problem with taking action to solve a problem, IF we know there is a good chance of success. With something as (supposedly) catastrphic as global warming, I have no problem making major sacrifices even if there is the slightest chance of success. However, when the knee-jerkers are running bout saying we must use solutions that create a bigger carbon footprint (EG energy efficient bulbs, whose manufacturing process consumes more energy per-bulb, than the bulb saves over it's lifetime, or windmills placed in places with low levels of wind, so that the carbon footprint of manufacturing it is greater than the energy it will produce over its lifetime) and when the solutions are guaranteed to fail, because even if the UK does reduce its carbon output to zero, it will NOT stop global warming. for 2 reasons.
1. the Chinese and Indians will still increase their output by more than what we, in the UK, produce thus completely negating all our efforts and
2. Global Climate change is not solely driven by CO2.
Then I greatly resent having to make sacrifices that will achieve absolutely nothing!
